Volunteer Spotlight: Diane Boyle

The support of our volunteers such as Diane Boyle is a huge part of The Grand; and this National Volunteer Week, we would like to highlight a few of the volunteers who go above and beyond.

Meet Diane Boyle. A volunteer for The Grand for approximately seven years. If you have visited the theater during a matinee performance, you have probably seen Diane running through the maze of busses. Snow, rain, or shine… you will find her smiling face assisting bus-loads of children.

For Diane that is her favorite part of volunteering. “My favorite part is the kid’s shows!” She says, “Meeting students, helping the teachers…just anything to make it easier for them.”

As a retired Social Worker, Diane has experience with working with all types of people: foster children to the elderly; happy people to sad people; and everything in between. It is this background that has helped Diane develop the people skills that have driven her to volunteer. Even before she was “officially” a Grand Theater volunteer, Diane would still lend a helping hand whenever needed.

For Diane helping people truly is “All in a day’s work.”
