The Grand is much more than a beautiful building. It is a major arts institution that entertains, educates and celebrates. Because ticket sales cannot cover the expense to operate the facility, fully one third of the budget of the Grand is covered through your generous donations. Your support keeps The Grand heated and cooled, lighted and cleaned, staffed and ready to put on the events that entertain you and your friends, educate your children, and celebrate your achievements, both personal and professional. Your continued support makes possible enriching arts experiences and wonderful moments for you and your family.
Not only do you help cover the day-to-day costs of labor, artists fees, maintenance and operation; most importantly, you help us engage young people in programs that educate, engage and challenge as we entertain the entire community with a broad array of performing arts events. The Grand is just one way the Wausau Area Performing Arts Foundation makes our community vital and vibrant. Since 1972, the Performing Arts Foundation has been working to promote excellence in the performing arts in North Central Wisconsin, reaching over 150,000 people each year with performances and instructional programs, including:
· 25,000 people through our Lively Arts Series
· 20,000 school children through the Matinee Series
· 5,000 children and educators through the Artists-in-the-Schools program
· 46,000 people through the use of The Grand for rental opportunities either for business, theater performances or personal use
